ALANNA REEVES
DIGITAL RESIDENCY COORDINATOR
Alanna Reeves is a DC-born artist, art administrator, and project creator. Formerly serving as The Nicholson Project’s Programs and Communications Manager, Alanna continues working with us to coordinate our 2023 Digital Residencies.
Her personal studio practice has developed to focus on origins, identity discontinuity, and placemaking. These themes are reflected through a means of painting, printmaking, narrative and, when fortunate, food. She has exhibited within the DC-area and beyond, and is grateful to have participated in residencies and fellowships with Transformer, DC Arts Center, Pyramid Atlantic, and Monson Arts. While much of her work is biographical, it aims to include other voices and perspectives. With this community-minded thinking, she seeks to connect with and support fellow artists.
This goal has led to her background in arts administration, where Alanna has worked with organizations, agencies, and institutions such as Plain Sight, Transformer, The Phillips Collection, International Visions, and Booklyn, among others. Within these roles, Alanna has provided support in development, generated curriculums, maintained archives, and produced public events, experience that she is excited to bring with her to Nicholson.
