STEFANIE REISER

FOUNDER + EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Stefanie Reiser founded The Nicholson Project in September 2019. Stefanie became aware of the property that is now Nicholson's home in 2014. The row house had lain vacant for years and was completely uninhabitable as the elements and wild animals had taken a toll on the fragile wood-frame structure. Recognizing the tremendous potential to create a community asset, after five years of strategic planning, community building, and extensive renovations, 2310 Nicholson Street is now a fully restored row home that houses a three room gallery and residency suite that includes a fully furnished apartment and artist studio, plus a 15 bed organic garden and large open space.

In addition to The Nicholson Project, Stefanie is the founder and CEO of acknowledge., a new paradigm in artisanal CBD. A serial entrepreneur and changemaker, Stefanie has been consulting and founding successful businesses since 1993. In 2014, she founded Align Development LLC, a boutique development company with several built residential projects. Align Development also serves as the platform through which Reiser conceives and develops radically transformative ideas and the projects that bring those to fruition. The Washington Business Journal recognized Reiser with the “Woman Who Means Business” award in 2016. A past member of Mavericks 1000, and a current member of Cadre, Reiser believes in the power of human potential. A longtime student and policy wonk at the intersection of food, the environment, social equity, the arts, and community development, Reiser now devotes her considerable energy and focus to The Nicholson Project and to regenerative farming in Western Maryland’s Pleasant Valley.
